Toxic Plants

Aloe Vera- Vomiting, depression, diarrhea, anorexia, tremors, change in urine color.

Amaryllis- Vomiting, depression, diarrhea, abdominal pain, hyper salivation, anorexia, tremors

Asian Lily- Vomiting, inappetence, lethargy, kidney failure. (Cats are the only species known to be affected)

Avocado- Vomiting, diarrhea, death, inflammation of mammary glands of rabbits, goats, cattle, horses-cardiac failure in goats

Azalea- Vomiting, diarrhea, hyper salivation, weakness, coma, hypotension, CNS depression, cardiovascular collapse

Bird of Paradise- Gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, vomiting, in coordination is possible.

Branching Ivy- Gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, hyperactivity, breathing difficulty, coma, fever, polydipsia, dilated pupils, muscular weakness and in coordination.

Buckeye- severe gastroenteritis, depression or hyper excitability, dilated pupils, comas
Caladium- oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of mouth, tongue, lips, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty in swallowing

Daffodil- Severe Gastrointestinal disorders, convulsions, shivering, hypotension, dermatitis, muscular tremors, cardiac arrhythmias.

Fox Glove- Cardiac Arrhythmias, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, cardiac failure, death.

Glacier Ivy- Gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, hyperactivity, breathing difficulty, coma, fever, polydipsia, dilated pupils, muscular weakness and loss of coordination.

Gladiolas- Vomiting, occasionally with blood, depression, diarrhea, occasionally with blood, hyper salivation, abdominal pain

Holly- Intense vomiting and diarrhea, depression

Hurricane Plant- Oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of the mouth, lips, tongue, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty in swallowing

Hydrangea- vomiting, depression, anorexia, diarrhea, increased heart rate, increase in body temperature

Iris- Vomiting, occasionally with blood, depression, diarrhea, occasionally with blood, hyper salivation, abdominal pain

Japanese Show Lily- Vomiting, lethargy, inappetence, kidney failure (cats only known species to have been affected)

Kalanchoe- May cause vomiting, diarrhea, bufodienalides are cardio toxic

Lace Fern- Allergic dermatitis with repeated dermal exposure. Berry ingestion could result in gastric upset (vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea)

Lily of the Valley- Ataxia, vomiting, cardiac arrhythmias, death

Macadamia Nut- Depression, hyperthermia, weakness, muscular stiffness, vomiting, tremors, increased heart rate. Only reported in dogs at this time

Marijuana- Prolonged CNS depression, respiratory depression, weakness, ataxia, sedation, sometimes hyper excitations

Mistle Toe- Gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular collapse, dyspnea, bradycardia, erratic behavior

Morning Glory- Seeds may cause hallucination, may cause diarrhea
